Metro Credit Union | Springfield, MO

A Proposed Merger

MCU & D8

Metro Credit Union (Metro) and District 8 Highway Employees Credit Union (District 8) would like to announce they have entered into an agreement to merge, subject to District 8’s membership vote and final regulatory approvals.  Once combined under the Metro Credit Union name, the credit union will have approximately $80 million in assets and 8,500 members.  In addition to other benefits, the merger will provide two more locations for District 8 members and one more location for Metro members.

The boards of both credit unions have approved the merger after carefully considering the impact and benefit to the membership. In addition, both the Missouri Division of Credit Unions and NCUA have provided a preliminary approval.

The members of District 8 will be mailed a packet detailing information for the upcoming vote.  If approved, additional information will be sent discussing the conversion, timelines, and provide contact information for assistance.

Both Metro and District 8 will hold monthly meetings to answer questions and address concerns.  It will also be a good time to visit with staff and view facilities.  The meeting times will be announced at a later date.

The legal merger date and member data conversion are anticipated to occur on April 1, 2019.
